FF14 classes
One of the most crucial decisions a player has to make in Final Fantasy xiv is choice of classes. The moment you opt for a particular class, you automatically choose a starting city. Apart from that, classes also have a great influence on which fights are hard and which become easy.
The game comes with 8 classes to choose from; all with different roles and playing styles. The FF 14 classes are:

Arcanist - Arcanists start in Limsa Lominsa. They play the role of a magician and therefore use armor and cloth to bring out attributes of intelligence and piety. As a magician, the arcanist can damage and heal. He also has access to a summoned companion. From this class, a player can advance to either of two jobs; the summoner or a scholar.

The Archer- Archers are disciples of war and start their adventure in Gridania. Their armory include leather cloth and chains and they also enjoy access to bows which can be used even in motion. They can inflict serious damage to a single target. The main attribute therefore is dexterity and when you go through successfully, you progress to the Bard job.

Conjurer class- Conjurers also start in Gridania and just like Archers are disciples of war. They can use wands, cloth, armory and staffs in discharging their duties. Attributes of mind and intelligence are of critical value here. In FFXIV, this class boasts the strongest healing and recovery powers. They are highly regarded especially in party play and Duty Finder jobs. From this class, players progress to the White Mage job.

Gladiators - Start off in UI'Dah and are disciples of war. They have access to heavy armory including swords and shields and can survive huge amounts of damage. They can also keep companions away from danger with ease. This class values strength and vitality attributes most. Gladiators also easily find jobs on Duty Finder. Successful gladiators rise to the Padalin job.

Lancer class- Lancers start in Gridania too. They are disciples of war and make use of scales, chains and “lancers” or spears. They can inflict serious damage to a single target too. In this class, the most desired attribute is strength. Successful players can advance to the Dragoon job.

The marauder- Marauders start in Limsa Lominsa. They too are disciples of war and can use some of the heaviest axes and armors. This is a primary tank class and can survive intense damage while protecting companions from danger. They have great self healing capabilities too. They will always find jobs on Duty Finder and successful marauders progress to the Warrior job.

Pugilist class- members of this class start in UI'Dah. They are disciples of war but quite light in armory with access to cloth and leather only . Here, strength is a primary attribute. From this class, one can progress to the Monk job.

Thumaturge- this class also starts in UI'Dah. Thumaturges are disciples of Magic mamd make use of light cloth, staffs, scepters and cudgels. It is a Damage Dealer class and they can inflict reasonable damage. They can also stop attackers on their tracks using the Sleep spell. Progress from this class takes you to the Black Mage Job.

All the 8 FF 14 classes are very enjoyable and with progression to various jobs allowed, the adventure is a real excitement. You unlock classes by simply visiting the gild of that class and completing a guild master quest.

If you are playing for the first time and making a new character, then you will probably not struggle with getting Gil. The main story, job quests and other side missions that can be picked up along the way are great sources of getting Gil in the game. You will not have to buy your own gear since it steadily comes in as rewards, and for higher level stuff you can farm dungeons for Gil.

If you end up in a mind, where you may have to spend too much on teleports, but you do have a couple of options. You can get Gil anywhere between 500 to 2000 each time by playing certain Levequests over and over, depending on the difficulty and speed of completion. If you are a mid level player (25-40), you can also farm enemies for materials that can be used by Crafters. The actual crystals are one of the easiest ones. You can find Sprite enemies that drop these crystals in practically every zone. They do not have an out of this word drop rate, but if you get lucky and you are near Costa Del Sol, you can net almost 20,000 Gil by farming the Wind Sprites there.

End Game Farming

After reaching 50, a lot of potential options will become available for you to get Gil. Disciplines of Magic and Disciplines of War can also farm enemies in the same way as above. Usually, more materials are needed by Crafters, so this is typically a steady supply of Gil. Depending on the world, desired items tend to vary. For instance, it is possible to find Clusters, Crystals, Diremite Web, Fleece, and many other items on enemies.

However, it is necessary that you can only get Gil by killing enemies. Upon completing dungeons, such as Ampador Keep, you can get Tomes of Philosophy. Although you can typically use these for gear for your character, you can also buy crafting materials with them as well. Crafters tend to seek these materials the most to make end game gear. A Crafter can sell a single of the end game gear for up to 50,000 Gil, depending on the server. You can make more than 300,000 Gil by spending a few days farming some Dungeons.

It is true that doing everything on your own is the best way to truly make tons of Gil. A steady supply of items can be farmed. Crafted and mine with the classes Discipline of the Hand, Discipline of the Land, and Discipline of War, and you will not have to buy anything from the Market Board.
